Aşık Veysel medals made of gold and bronze

As part of the first “Bağlama Symposium” in Germany, Adil Arslan, Director of the deutsch-türkische Musikakademie, presented the first three copies of the Âşık Veysel medallion to: Prof. Martin Rennert (President of the Berlin University of the Arts and patron of the “Bağlama – Instrument of the Year 2013” project), Dr. Hubert Kolland (President of the Berlin State Music Council), and Prof. Christian Höppner (Secretary General of the German Music Council and Vice President of the European Music Council) – (pictured from left to right).

The Âşık Veysel medallion was specially commissioned by the deutsch-türkische Musikakademie from the artist Maria Lucia Hardegen as part of the “Bağlama – Instrument of the Year 2013” project and is available through the academy. This special edition consists of 100 individually numbered, handmade medallions accompanied by a name list.

Karneval der Kulturen

In 2007, at the “Karneval der Kulturen” festival held in Berlin, the deutsch-türkische Musikakademie’s folk dance group was awarded second place in the folk dance competition.

In 2003, under the patronage of the German Federal Presidency, a student of the deutsch-türkische Musikakademie was awarded first place in the bağlama competition organized by the DEUTSCHER MUSIKRAT.

In 2013, a student of the deutsch-türkische Musikakademie received an award in the TAG DER BAĞLAMA competition organized by the LANDESMUSIKRAT BERLIN.
